Mission Statement:
KMRE will serve the members of AMRE and the citizens of Whatcom County by broadcasting music, information and public programming that is consistent with desires of AMRE members and community partners. KMRE is ‘the voice’ of the American Museum of Radio and Electricity.
Vision:
KMRE- LP 102.3 FM will broadcast historical, educational, cultural and local programming. The focus will be to showcase The American Museum of Radio and Electricity’s vast and diverse media collection. As well as cultivate local programming that provides educational, cultural and historical value to our listeners.
On the air, we:
• Entertain and educate
• Showcase AMRE’s media collection through community involvement
• Emphasize local talent, affairs, events and people in our programming
• Strive for excellent quality
In our day-to-day operations, we:
• Welcome participation from anyone in our community, making special effort to include those people and views typically missing in mainstream media
• Make decisions based on clear, open processes and communication; we strive for consensus over majority rule when possible.
• Maintain independence from corporate or national influence, thriving instead on the work of our volunteers and the power of our own community to support our unique voice.
