Brownie #2 Crystal Radio Receiver with "Note Magnifier"
1923 and 1926
When introduced in 1923, this unusual and interesting radio was designed to be used with headphones. In 1926, a two-valve ("Valve" being the british term for vacuum tube) amplifier was added so that the set could be used with a loudspeaker. The amplifier was cleverly designed to cradle the radio from beneath.
