Froment Electromagnetic Engine

By Gustav Froment (unsigned). Missing its wooden base, the cast iron open frame measures 12-1/4” x 4-1/2” and is 6-1/4” high including magnetic armature. Four large electromagnets measuring 2-1/8” in length and 1-1/2” diameter. This design was one of the earliest elecric motors that was powerful enough to perform actual work.
